Regent Lighting were approached by the KKA Consulting Engineers to supply a lighting system that would compliment the modern contemporary open plan office scheme for the new Nandos Head Office in Lorentzville, Johannesburg. The project consisted of a series of individual buildings which were linked by very simplistic architectural elements consisting of steel canopies and covered walkways. The integrity and simplicity of the individual buildings were retained with minimal intervention which entailed the addition of double volume window and special entrance ways. Feature walls and zones were identified where special interventions and art work were incorporated. The lighting followed these same principals. Low key general lighting in a very structured layout and special lighting to emphasize certain very key elements.
Working closely with both the Electrical Engineer and the Interior Designer a scheme of suspended and surface mounted Linear luminaires in varying lengths using T5 Fluorescent tubes were decided upon. Due to the double volume spaces the Linear luminaire suspended over the work stations allowed improved efficiencies and the Linear style fitting enhanced the buildings design.
